Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns Line Movement

Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns Prediction

We usually have to wait until at least the last month of the season to crown a regular season champion. Occasionally we'll have a super team that hits their stride while the rest of the conference can't keep up, but no such team exists this season (or at least no one that ever saw the court together for any extended period of time. Sorry, Brooklyn).

And yet here we are, a full two months out from the end of the regular season, and the Suns are about to engage in something more closely resembling a coronation than a competition for the top spot.

Coming into Tuesday night, Phoenix carried a record of 46 wins against just 10 losses. They are riding a five-game winning streak, the fourth steak of at least that many games they've had this season, two of which extended to double digits and one extending to nearly 20 games. They currently have a five game lead in the West over Golden State, who also has the second best record in the league. They're also seven up on Memphis and 10 in the loss column up on Miami, the best team in the East.

This is what dominance looks like, and even though the Suns are so obviously the best team in the league, Vegas still hasn't really caught up. Phoenix is 32-24 against the spread for a cover rate of 57 percent. They've covered four of five on their current streak, and carry a nearly 10 point margin of victory at home, where they'll play the Clippers tonight.

LA is coming off two straight quality wins, at Dallas and at home against the Warriors. They already have a win over the Suns on their ledger, and have generally surprised opponents despite being undermanned all season long.

But they're also playing on the second night of a back to back and had to travel after last night's win. LA is 3-6 ATS with no rest this season, and the Suns are not a team you want to be tired against, especially when they've averaged 126 points over their last four. This one is an easy call.

Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat Line Movement

Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat Prediction

Speaking of best teams in their conference, the Miami Heat have risen to the top of the East despite hardly ever having their full complement of players. Bam Adebayo has missed 25 games, Jimmy Butler has missed 19, Kyle Lowry 13, and Tyler Herro 11.

Through it all, they have persevered, and especially so at home, where they are 15-11 against the spread. They are also just 10-11 as a home favorite, which they are here despite more injuries rearing their ugly head. Tyler Herro is out for sure, while Jimmy Butler is questionable with a right shoulder strain.

The Mavs, on the other hand, are completely healthy with the exception of Tim Hardaway Jr, who has been out for a while. They're coming off a two-point loss to the Clippers but Luka Doncic continues his torrid post-KP trade hellfire tour, now with 96 points in his last two games. If Butler is out, the Heat will have no one to match up with the Slovenian star.

Keep an eye on the Butler injury, but if he's out, this line drops. Take advantage while you still can, especially since Dallas can win regardless of who suits up for the opposing team.
