Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic Prediction: Hawks Looking to Make it Right

Most gamblers will institute a "ban" list when they back a good play that should have won, but loses. Typically, the very next game, which they would have bet, will hit and they'll miss out. We’re running it back with the Hawks and living with the results on Wednesday.

Atlanta Hawks First To 15 PTS @ -140 ($140 to win $100)

Last night was unfortunate, placing this exact bet. Atlanta won the race to 10 and 20, but lost the race to 15. That was against a Cavs team that is superior to this Magic team in every way. Hawks have still won 5 of the last 7 races to 15 and are facing a Magic team who have lost 8 of their last 9. The math checks out. Hawks are missing their star PF. But, with Trae Young healthy, I would pick Trae and 4 plumbers against this Magic, team who are in contention for the worst record in the NBA.

Orlando has looked somewhat improved in spurts since Jalen Suggs came back from injury, but they don't seem to start off games too hot. This game spread favors Atlanta by 5.5 points and even that feels low. I personally might be taking the bait but I like Atlanta to win by 6 or more with ease. Although I won't bet on that I will happily run this back because it’s only right, they do owe us after all. Some people may have concerns about Atlanta being on a second leg of a back to back and maybe that’s why the spread is the way it is. Typically with that scenario we see that fatigue set in for the 2nd half. That doesn’t matter for our bet luckily.

Hawks remain without John Collins but have still be winning the races to 15 without him. Besides that we are seeing Hawks at full strength. I truly thought any first to 15 against the magic should be -180 or higher given how bad they are but I will gladly drink the minimal juice to attack it without forcing an extra leg to the play. Last time we targeted a team against the Magic we saw Denver pounce on them to begin the game 15-7, I would not be opposed to a similar situation playing out tonight.
