De'Aaron Fox has really been turning it up lately. The Kings guard is averaging 25.6 PPG and 5.0 AST over his last 8 games. He should maintain his hot streak against a Bulls team that has really been struggling on the defensive end. With Haliburton out of town, we have seen Fox take over and assume primary point guard duties.
This hasn’t directly correlated to assists but the potential assists have been slightly up, players just haven’t been knocking down shots. His normal assist line is 4.5 and I think he either barely misses it or smashes it. The risk is worth the potential reward pairing that with his points prop.
Typically if I were to look at a Kings vs. Bulls game this year I would probably lay off due to a potential blowout. I feel better about the idea of betting on it with Lavine remaining out to go along with Lonzo and Caruso.
Vegas projects this as a -5.5 spread in favor of the Bulls and if that’s the case then we should see Fox get his usual big minutes. This will be a tough one to cash in three quarters so we’ll need the Kings to bring their best. If they keep it close it will likely be in part to Fox’s success and I like our chances.
Sabonis entering town is the type of player that Fox will continue to flourish playing with. Sabonis is a gifted passing big and is a threat to score from nearly anywhere on the court. Having a player with the ability of Domantas will open up the court for Fox to get to the hole.
Vegas has this games total at 232.5 which is the second highest on the slate. I like the matchup, the total, the spread given the injuries, and how well Fox has been playing lately. It checks the boxes for me to make it a play. Swipa is a fun player to watch and this our just our second time betting on him, the first time he respected our cash so let’s hope he does it again.
