NBA All-Star Predictions: Best Bets for NBA All-Star Weekend
First off, as soon as these bets dropped I bet on my what I liked and the odds has since moved in my favor so maybe I’m onto something here. I will provide my favorite bet for each event excluding the skills event.

3-PT Contest: Luke Kennard +500 (Bet $100 to win $450)
I originally got Luke Kennard at +600 on Fanduel and he has since moved to +450, I still like it there. Kennard seems to be taking this event seriously as we have seen practice videos of him shooting from racks in practice and according to Tryonn Lue he made all 30 shots in one his runs. Kennard is known as a phenomenal shooter and I think he’s the favorite now for a reason, he’s my top lean.
Dunk Contest: Jalen Green +155 (Bet $100 to win $155)
For whatever reason, the books have shut down all of the dunk contest props but I saw Green at +200 on DraftKings when it opened so I hopped on it. I’m genuinely not scared of Anthony or Anderson so I view this as a one on one vs Toppin in my eyes. I just think Green has the appeal fans and judges are looking for when it comes to guards with major bounce. Jalen Green has the athleticism to perform the most difficult dunks out of the four if he pushes himself and really wants to win.
All-Star Game MVP: Giannis Antetokounmpo +600 (Bet $100 to win $600)
This is the only bet I’ve made that is still available at the same odds but it’s still one I like quite a bit. Team Lebron are six-point favorites so it’s more likely to be a player from that team. Giannis won the award last year and I think has a chance to repeat. Giannis simply doesn’t know how to take it easy. I remember him yelling at his players to play defense last year and it seems like a game he still puts forth some effort unlike other players who just go through the motions. Giannis will have an efficient stat line again presumably as he went 16-16 from the field last year for 35 points. I would love to see another alley-oop off the ground from Steph to Giannis, that would help the fav vote.
Honorable Mentions:
I’ll wrap this up by mentioning some of my favorite bets that aren’t my #1 favorite for the category. So I already addressed how Obi is my second favorite in the dunk contest so lets get that out of the way. My second favorite for the 3 point contest is Fred VanVleet. Freddy has really proven to have a nice stroke this year and the volume he’s shooting at is incredible. He’s making four threes a game only trailing the one and only Steph Curry.
My sleeper pick that I also sprinkled some money on is Ja Morant MVP. If Team Durant beats Team Lebron i think Ja could be a strong candidate to take home the hardware. Ja has the prototypical game that is exciting to fans and will generate votes. In a game with no defense we could see him finish some crazy dunks at the rim and keep the crowd into it. Getting this at +900 seemed like great value to me.
None of these plays will be officially recorded as plays but I just wanted to share some of what I like if you plan on watching and want to put some lunch money on it. This weekend is just meant to be fun so let's not blow our winnings on bets with very little edge.
