The NBA Dunk contest will take place on Saturday night, and I am fired up to kick back and watch. Over the years, we have been lucky to watch some outstanding performances in the contest. Some of the best to ever do it include Dwight Howard turning into Superman, Vince Carter throwing down one of the best dunks ever, and Blake Griffin jumping over a car. If you love to watch basketball, you have to check out the dunk contest. As gamblers, the best part about the dunk contest is the money we can make off of it. Typically the lines for the dunk contest will all be plus money. I still think you need to dig pretty deep into these kinds of bets and find some value.
The player I am taking to win this dunk contest will come in the form of the high flyer from Dayton, Obi Toppin. I know what everyone is thinking. How could you bet on a New York Knick? I questioned this myself, but I feel that the value on Toppin here is far too good. You can’t really give stats on why a player is good to bet on for a dunk contest, but if you have watched Toppin, you know the damage he can do at the rim.
The second factor is the New York Knicks are in desperate need to cheer about something. The NBA may just feel so bad for the Knicks and their fans that they just give the award to Toppin.
