Thursday's NBA player prop pick from handicapper John Hyslop. Slop is back, giving us his favorite NBA player prop pick following a far-too-long All-Star break. In his first pick of the second half, he's got his eyes on De'Aaron Fox.

NBA Player Prop Pick for Thursday: De'Aaron Fox Poised to go Big on Thursday Night

Great news people. We made it. All the way. Many thought this day would never come but the NBA is finally back from the all-star break. Not to brag, but I knew it would happen. I knew that if we just bet other sports then the association would be back before we knew it. (This happens every year.) To celebrate the return, I think we should do what any responsible person would do and that's gamble. The player prop market is primed and if we're being honest, it looks a little too easy. Almost like the sportsbooks forgot how to price people. I get it, the all-star break is long so rust is expected. It's just usually not this bad.

De'Aaron Fox Over 24.5 Points @ +100 (Bet $100 to win $100)

Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing

I got this at DraftKings because the others seem to be on to King Fox. FanDuel has it at a more respectable price of -110. Still, if the books are giving an even money move, you take that one. If you can only bet at FanDuel, that's fine though. It's not like -110 is too much worse than even money.

For those that haven't watched a ton of west coast ball this season, Fox is proving to be an absolute animal. Sure he's missed a little time, but in the time that he has been on the floor, he's been a true alpha for the Kings. And after the trade deadline, he's been even more so leading the team in shot attempts every night.

Those shot attempts are leading to points which is what we are hoping for tonight. Over his last nine games, Fox has taken at least 18 shots in eight of them. What's better is he's scored at least 26 points in all eight games. The best part is, if you're worried about rust from the all-star break, don't. Fox missed almost three weeks during this nine-game run I speak of and since he's been back, he hasn't scored less than 26 in any game.

The Kings will welcome the Nuggets to town tonight which isn't great for blowout purposes but the line is only 4.5 so maybe we miss a true beatdown. Denver struggles defending point guards as they are seventh worst in the NBA in points versus the position. Fox hung 30 on these guys that last time they met way back on January 7th so there's that too. I don't think it's crazy to think De'Aaron Fox goes for at least 25 points tonight given the circumstance.
