The NBA is finally back, and I couldn’t be more excited for that! We have a pretty solid slate tonight to get into, but I found one play in particular that I love for tonight. I am heading to the west coast for a battle between the Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento Kings vs. Denver Nuggets Prediction

The Nuggets looking good when it comes to a potential playoff berth while the Kings are going to have to do some work post All-Star break to crack their way into the play-in spot.

The Kings were very active at the trade deadline, making one of the more puzzling trades. They sent second-year guard Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers, along with former lottery pick Buddy Hield, in exchange for All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis brought an immediate spark to this team, and the duo of Sabonis and Fox has looked legit so far.

The Nuggets enjoyed a solid first half on the court but have had to deal with a ton of injuries this season. Star guard Jamal Murray has been out all year long, and Michael Porter Jr., who just inked a massive contract in the offseason, has had to miss the entire season due to a back injury.

Will Barton and Monte Morris have also had to deal with injuries along the way. The consistent presence of last year's MVP Nikola Jokic has kept them afloat so far this season. Jokic has been outstanding, putting up MVP-like numbers once again, and is currently the second favorite to win the award only behind fellow big man Joel Embiid. 

The play I am going with tonight is going to be to back the Sacramento Kings with the points.

I like what I have seen from this team since the trade for Sabonis. The pick and roll with Sabonis and Fox has looked really solid so far and should be a big factor in this game tonight. The Nuggets have been a better team at home this season, and I have had success fading them on the road. I understand the dominance of Jokic, but I think the game plan will be to show him a lot of doubles and force other guys to step up. Sabonis should be able to make Jokic work on the defensive end and possibly get Jokic into some foul trouble. Sabonis is one of the best men at drawing fouls. I like the spot here tonight with the points at home after a long All-Star break! I am also sprinkling some on the moneyline tonight at +150. If you are feeling bold, I’d suggest doing that as well.
