NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday: Pascal Siakam Always Helps Others
The NBA is back and it's time to get serious about player props again. Last night was fantastic in the association and I bet we get just as much excitement tonight. That's just how excitement works. Being that it's a Friday, we're getting a decent-sized slate so there is that. Not to be negative, but we don't have many full-slate Fridays left this season. It's sad. But instead of getting down about it, I say we get up. Luckily for us, I found the perfect way to get started right at 7:00pm ET. It's always fun to start the night with a play that has no chance of losing. Ask anyone.

Pascal Siakam Over 5.5 Assists @ +116 (Bet $100 to win $116)
Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing
This one is hanging at 4.5 for -155 at both DraftKings and BetMGM so you can always drink the juice there for a lower number. As for me, I'm at FanDuel for the plus money. I like to gamble. I was born like that so my hands are tied.
A lot of people are going to think that Fred VanVleet playing tonight is going to hurt this. I can't say for sure that it will. It's not a great development, but it's certainly not a killer. Definitely not a reason to skip the move altogether.
First of all, Siakam still sees assist opportunities when VanVleet is on the floor. The haters are going to say that he only recorded one assist against the New Orleans Pelicans last time they played together but that was because of the Pelicans. No team in the NBA allows fewer assists per field goals made over the last three games. They figured something out. I bet the haters won't bring up the fact that Siakam had seven assists the game before against the Denver Nuggets with VanVleet in the lineup.
This market is all about opponents and the Raptors have a good one tonight. The Charlotte Hornets present a sweet, sweet pace-up spot which means we get a few more possessions. More possessions, more assist opportunities for Siakam. This isn't rocket science.
The other thing to like about this one is the fact that only one team in the NBA sees more opponent assists per made field goal than the Hornets over the last three games. We're talking 69.5% here people. They're at 62.6% for the season so this isn't new.
Our guy Siakam has taken advantage of the Hornets in this market in two matchups this season. Once was the time he dropped eight with VanVleet active. He smoked them for 12 the time VanVleet wasn't active. I really don't think six is a lot to ask tonight. I've even seen a few James Bond types going with 8+ for +390. This could get wild.
