The Grizzlies have been outstanding this year, led by Ja Morant. Morant is scoring 26.7 points per game which landed him his first all-star appearance. The role players for the Grizzlies have really stepped up this season, including Jarren Jackson Jr., an alumnus of Michigan State, who has done a little bit of everything.
Jackson is one of the favorites to win Defensive Player of the Year and a huge part of the Grizzlies' success. On the flip side, the Bulls have had a great year as well. Chicago is currently tied for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, led by all-star DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan should be in the MVP conversation as good as he has been this season. He is averaging 28.3 points per game and is one of the best players in the fourth quarter. He has been the most clutch player in all of the NBA this year, including their last game when he stepped up and hit two huge shots down the stretch against the Hawks. Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic have also really stepped up for the Bulls, leading them to numerous wins this year. This should be a heavyweight battle tonight between two of the best teams in the NBA.
The play I am turning to tonight is going to be to back the road team in the Memphis Grizzlies.
The first reason is this line, the Bulls have been very good this year at home and now come in as a dog tonight. I believe the line indicates this is a great spot for Memphis. The Grizzlies have been a very good road team this year, playing to the tune of a 21-10 record away from Memphis. They should be well prepared for this game tonight on the road. Ja Morant really struggled in his last game against the Timberwolves, so I see him bouncing back in a big way. I like the small-ball lineup that the Grizzlies can throw at the Bulls tonight.
