I found one play on the board I absolutely love and can’t wait to dive into. The Pelicans will head into LA currently one game out of the final play-in spot in the western conference. The Pelicans have been without their superstar Zion Williamson all season long and got out of the gates ice cold. They made a move at the trade deadline to add all-star guard CJ Mccollum.
Since the addition of CJ, the pelicans have proved to be a tough team to beat. McCollum is in the midst of a crazy scoring run of his own and will be a tough matchup once again tonight for the Lakers. The Lakers currently sit as the number nine seed in the west. The Lakers entered the year one of the favorites to win the championship, and now they will be fighting to simply make the postseason.
The one man who has done his job to the point in the season is Lebron James. James is showing no signs of slowing down at this stage of his career which is a scary sight for the rest of the NBA. The Lakers have had to deal with some injuries this year as well, most notably the injury of all-star Anthony Davis. Davis has been in and out of the lineup all season long for the Lakers, making it tough on them to find a flow as a team. Russell Westbrook had revived a ton of criticism from the national media for his poor play and the poor fit on this Lakers team. The Lakers will need a big second half of the season to flip the script on their season.
The play I am going with for tonight’s game is going to be to back the hometown Lakers. This is a massive game for them at this stage in the season. The Lakers need to turn up the heat and get on a run, winning games that they are favored in like tonight.
I believe that the Lakers will be well prepared for this game tonight after some of the comments from Lebron James. I trust that the Lakers come out hot here led by James and take care of business in this game. They are going to have a chance to get on a run at this stage in the season. They will have an opportunity to open things up on the offensive end tonight as the pelicans enter play as one of the worst teams on the defensive end.
This should be a game that the Lakers feast on the offensive end of the floor and put a ton of pressure on the pelicans. I know they have been awful this season, but they will be good enough tonight to make us some money to close the week! Let’s keep things rolling tonight and end the week with a win.
