On smaller slates, you’ve gotta get a little sneaky. I’ve been a certain play for a week now but haven’t pulled the trigger, I keep watching it hit and I feel silly. That changes tonight.

Leg 1: Terance Mann 1+ STL
Every day I see Terance Mann o0.5 STLS at -200 or more and I know it’s going to hit. Every day it does and I’ve been checking the box score and thinking to myself “why didn’t I just pair it with something?”.
Mann has one steal in eight straight games including against this same Rockets team. He also had a steal both games against Houston last year although that was a somewhat different roster. He has been a hound on defense and has consistently been seeing 30+ minutes which is amazing news for us. Houston allows the most steals in the NBA to the SG position so on paper this is the best possible matchup for Mann to continue his streak.

Leg 2: Hornets ML
Next we have Hornets to win. As a Pistons fan, this hurts me, as someone who likes money this makes complete sense. Pistons are on the second leg of a back-to-back and simply just aren’t a good basketball team. Jerami Grant has really been struggling lately and without him in rhythm the offense exclusively revolves young talent which wont win you games when it gets close late. Hornets have something to play for as they compete for playoff seeding and are double-digit favorites for a reason. Hornets have played Pistons twice and have won by 29 and 22, we don’t need them to cover. Just win the game and you get my respect.
These are two juiced legs to bring us down to -135. Although I usually don't parlay picks and still end up having to pay juice I will make an exception for these plays because they both feel so safe to me. I’m only laying one unit because for whatever reason my track record with heavy favorites in moneyline situations is less than ideal. It’s important to bet with data and not emotions though and that’s what I will continue to do tonight. These bets make perfect sense and I will live with whatever the results may end up being.
