New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
So far, so good for the new look Philadelphia 76ers.
In their first game with James Harden, the Sixers took on a respectable opponent - the Minnesota Timberwolves coming off three wins in four games against the Pacers, Hornets and Grizzlies - and absolutely dismantled them, 133-102 in a contest that was over shortly after halftime.
Looking at how efficiently this team was able to operate, with Harden and MVP candidate Joel Embiid combining for 61 points on just 30 shots, the rest of the league has officially been put on notice. Daryl Morey got his guy, and there will be no easy way to stop this attack.

Next up on the chopping block: the struggling New York Knicks, who have now lost four straight and 14 of their last 17 games. They are in a free fall, with rumors swirling about Tom Thibodeau's job security, Kemba Walker shut down for the year, Derrick Rose still not back after an injury setback, and Julius Randle coming off a 2-for-15 shooting night - the seventh time this season he's made fewer than a quarter of his attempted field goals.
There is, however, one bright spot for the Knicks: RJ Barrett, who just put up a career-high 46 points against the Miami Heat after a four-game absence due to a sprained ankle. Barrett was unstoppable against a defense that usually gives him fits, converting from deep (6-of-11; up to 36 percent for the season) and getting to the rim and the line at will. The last step for New York's young star: actually converting an ample percentage of those trips to the charity stripe; he made just 14-of-22 on Friday night.
Philly will have the stout Matisse Thybulle to throw on Barrett, but New York can switches when it wants, and in James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, there will be matchups for RJ to take advantage of.
Even so, the Knicks are walking into a buzz saw. New York hasn't given any indication that they should be backed for some time, having dropped eight of nine against the spread. Today makes it nine of 10. Give the points on the road.

Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz Prediction
Don't call it a comeback?
The Utah Jazz sure looked down and out a few weeks ago, having dropped 11 of 13 games after racing out to a 28-10 start with the net rating of a legit contender. Over those 13 games though, they were rarely whole, with Rudy Gobert sitting out nine, Donovan Mitchell missing eight, and Utah's big two only suiting up for the same game twice.
But they've had their full complement of players back for a bit now, and as a result, have won seven of eight, including three games by 23 or more.
Next up: a Suns team that is missing their leader in Chris Paul. They won their first game without Paul against the tanking Thunder but dropped a home effort to the Pelicans by 15 points two nights ago.
This game is a bit tough to call because Phoenix has had Utah's number for a while now, having won six straight in this matchup. But both Mitchell and Gobert missed the last two games, a home and home in late January. Despite their combined absence, the Suns won by just six and eight points.
The Jazz avenge those losses here. Take advantage of the fact that Vegas hasn't yet caught up to Utah's turnaround and take the road team with confidence.
