We missed last night's play, so I have to apologize for that loss, but we are still 5-1 on the week in the NBA. The play I am looking at tonight will be an affair between one of the hottest teams in the NBA in the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans will be opposed by reigning MVP in the form of Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

The Pelicans are currently on a four-game winning streak, and they have been playing great basketball since the addition of shooting guard CJ McCollum. McCollum has been outstanding since coming over from Portland, and his energy has seemed to spark this entire Pelicans roster. The Pelicans are now in a position for a play in-game, and at the moment, not many teams in the NBA would want to match up against this Pelicans squad.

The Nuggets have had a very good season, but they have had to overcome a lot this year to get in the position they are in. They have had to endure much of this season with the absence of two of their stars in Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray. The Nuggets are hopeful that both of those guys will be back come the postseason and they have had some players really step up in the absence of them. Will Barton has been great for the Nuggets, along with Aaron Gordon. The play of Jokic has been unbelievable as he is currently the second betting favorite for MVP.

The play I am turning to tonight is going to be a bit juicy, but I have this line closer to -200, so I want to take advantage. I will be backing the Denver Nuggets tonight on the money line. I think this is a great opportunity to fade the Pelicans during this hot run. I think this pelicans team has gotten much better, but the way they are currently playing is also making them overvalued tonight. This is a tough place to play in the mile high, and this is a nuggets team that matches up very well. I think the style of Jokic will take Valanciunas out of the paint and force him to guard off the dribble. That matchup Tonight should be one that the Nuggets look to exploit all game long. I am willing to fade the pelicans, who seem to be a public dog tonight. Let’s end a great NBA week with a win tonight!
