Parley Breakdown
The New York Knicks have strung two wins together for the first time in a while, but they're still 3-7 over their last 10 games, and the issues bludgeoning their roster and team chemistry haven't gone anywhere. So, please forgive me if I'm not sold on a sudden resurgence. Tonight, the Knicks face the Dallas Mavericks who have won 8 of their last 10 games and have a reason to want a win tonight after New York won the first meeting between these two teams. That Knicks victory was back in January when we saw a slight resurgence from the struggling Eastern Conference outfit, and it's true, they could be on a mini-surge again. But the Mavericks are a tough team to play against, not least because of their top-10 defense, which has been a welcome surprise for Mavericks fans this year. New York has 7 players on their injury report for tonight's game, 8 if Mitchell Robinson is ruled out, and while the Mavericks are without Jalen Brunson, they should be more than capable of grinding out a hard-fought win tonight. I've gone with the Knicks on a +12.5-point spread because there's still a chance they cause an upset, but personally, I don't see it happening.

The Utah Jazz are 7-3 in their last ten games and currently find themselves fourth in the Western Conference standings. A slip blip in late January and early February, where Utah was without its best players for a stretch, saw them slip towards the bottom of the home-court advantage places in the league, but now they're relatively healthy and racking up the wins, as they look to cement themselves among the conference front-runners. The Portland Trail Blazers, on the other hand, have been struggling for most of the season, and hold a 6-4 record over their last 10 games courtesy of a mini slump-breaking stretch of games. However, with a potential 8 players missing from their rotation tonight, including Eric Bledsoe, Damian Lillard, and Jusuf Nurkic, Portland looks like cannon fodder for one of the better offensive units in the NBA. With their superior talent level and healthier roster, I expect the Jazz to win tonight's matchup and do so without too many problems, which is why I've run with a money line for this contest.

Our last game of this multi-team parlay sees the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Houston Rockets. There have been a few teams navigating disappointing seasons, but the Lakers sit atop all of them. Infighting, arguments with fans, and consistent losing has resigned Lakerland to a forgettable year. But, they should be beating the Rockets, right? Los Angeles has lost 8 of their last 10 games yet they should feel confident of notching a victory tonight after defeating the Rockets in all three of their previous meetings this season. Houston, on the other hand, is 1-9 in their last 10 games and continues to be NBA whipping boys - but that's the price you pay for rebuilding via the draft. Neither team is at full strength tonight, and the Lakers have a way of beating themselves lately, but I do expect them to find a way to win against a team that is actively trying to obtain the best draft status possible. However, we can't bank of Los Angeles doing what they're supposed to do, so we're running with the Rockets on a +9.5 spread.

The Boston Celtics are a hot topic in the NBA right now, turning their season around and climbing to the top of the league's defensive ratings in the process. Three big wins last week have their fans dreaming of post-season success, but the Charlotte Hornets always cause the Celtics issues. In fact, most teams that rely on speedy guards and limitless range give Boston issues. But, Jayson Tatum has been performing like an All-NBA talent in recent weeks and you have to back the hot hand. Over their last 10 games, the Celtics are 8-2 while the Hornets are 4-6 in their last 10. The Celtics are only missing Aaron Nemsiht for tonight's game, which means their core rotation remains in place, but the Hornets are yet to release their injury report at the time of writing. I think Charlotte is perfectly constructed to test Boston's defense, but their lack of resolve on their own defensive end is going to be their undoing tonight, as the Celtics are judicial in their shot selection and look to create gaps on every possession. Of course, this is the NBA, so anything can happen, but giving the Hornets a +12 spread should cover all of our bases, and help us close in on a 100% day.
Miami Heat vs. Phoenix Suns, Single-Game Parlay

No Chris Paul and no Devin Booker - the Phoenix Suns have their work cut out for them heading into tonight's game against the Miami Heat, who will be boosted by the return of Kyle Lowry - however it's unlikely we see him play significant minutes after missing so much time. Still, the Suns are significantly weaker without their two premier guards and will struggle to break down Miami's impressive defense, especially if they run their inverted zone defense. The Suns have won 7 of their last 10 games, but have certainly stuttered without Paul and Booker, and the Heat, who has won 8 of their last 10, will be excited to face a depleted powerhouse as they look to continue climbing the Eastern Conference as the season begins to wind down. I like how the Suns aren't over-reliant on any one player - their offense and defense aren't built that way, but when facing Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and co. you do need a sprinkling of star power, and unfortunately, that's not on the cards for Monty Williams' team tonight. I'm backing the Heat, but I know how well-oiled the Suns are, so will be giving them a +11 spread in case they come out hot and look to steal this game from Miami's clutches.
