We all know Durant to be one of the most prolific scorers not just in the NBA now but as an all-time great. Today though, we are looking for Durant to dish it out. Of course, he’ll score his fair share of points but I’m hoping that will open up double teams and assist opportunities. He gets a matchup versus the Knicks who he had 9 assists against last time versus them this season, we just need 6 here. Kyrie Irving will not be playing because it’s a home game and Harden is long gone out of town, Durant should be who this offense runs through.

Since the all-star break and Harden trade, we have seen Durant hit this in 3/4 games and average 6.5 assists per game. All of those games were with Kyrie and i expect that number to rise now that he’s the lone superstar in the lineup. This game is on ABC and I know how superstar players like to fill the stat sheet on national games. KD has a great history passing versus the Knicks in a Nets uniform clearing thus number in both contests. 5.5 just feels too low for KD who has had 13 and 14 assist opportunities in his last two games.

As of the time of writing, I see Brooklyn as 6 point favorites and if that ends up being the case this game shouldn’t get too out of hand to prevent Durant from getting us the minutes needed to hit this. KD has hit this prop in 8 of his last 10 games if you take out the game he got hurt and only played 12 minutes. This hit rate is great, him having 9 versus the Knicks earlier and him being the lone star lead me to believe 6 or more should be a cakewalk. If this bet doesn’t hit we can blame daylights savings and say his teammates were just tired so they couldn’t hit their shots. This is a foolproof plan.
