Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks Prediction
It's been quite a journey from the Summer of 2019 until now for these two teams. Heading into that free agency, the Knicks thought they were finally getting their Dark Knight, only to find that the joke was on them in the form of a clunky roster under a head coach in over his head. Then last season the tables turned, and under head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks turned things around behind Julius Randle & Co and Gotham felt like it was theirs once again. Meanwhile, the Nets were perhaps a toenail away from bringing a title to Brooklyn.
This season, neither team has had anywhere near the success they were anticipating following last year, but like any good battle between hero and villain, their matchups continue to be filled with drama. Earlier this season, Randle and Durant went toe to toe, and the Nets emerged with a 2-point win in Brooklyn. Then just a few weeks ago, the Nets came from 28 down in MSG to best the Knicks and continue New York's spiral heading into the break.
Since then, things have turned around for the Knicks, as they've covered five straight and won three of five outright, with a close loss in Memphis on Friday night serving as something of a moral victory. It might be too little, too late though, as they sit 4.5 games back of the 10th seed heading into today's matchup with just 15 games left to go. Brooklyn should also be feeling good about themselves, dominating the Sixers in Philly in their last outing.
They had Kyrie Irving for that game though, and they won't today. Ditto for Ben Simmons, who is still out. Given how these two teams always seem to play close games (just 21 points separate them over their last five), even though the Nets have won all of those matchups, a New York pick here makes the most sense. They stretch their cover streak to six.

Hawks vs. Pacers Line Movement
Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers Prediction
This line is a little confusing. The Hawks are clearly the better team and they have something to play for, clinging with their fingernails to the 10th seed in the East, but this spread isn't representative of how they've played of late.
Atlanta has dropped four straight covers and hasn't had a double-digit win since February. Indy, meanwhile, is coming off a win in San Antonio and hasn't lost by more than 10 in March. Despite all of that, the Hawks get their second-largest betting margin since before Thanksgiving.
Granted, it's second to the last time they played the Pacers in Atlanta, which is a game they won by 21 in the beginning of February. That game came in the midst of a 7-game losing streak for Indiana though. Since the Haliburton trade though, they've played better ball, and have won four of nine outright. Atlanta hasn't earned the respect they're getting here, not against this opponent at least. Take the points on the road.
