This one is a weird one, we’re singling out the first quarter. Before you ask it is not because it’s a 10:00 PM ET game and I don’t want to watch basketball until 1:00 AM. For better or for worse I am a degenerate who will gladly watch basketball all hours of the day. I just really like the numbers backing this one up and think these bets have an edge with certain teams that run their rotations certain ways. Some teams like to play their starters for long stretches in the first and other teams will only play them half of the first quarter and bring them in fresh to start the second. That usually isn’t implied in the first quarter total, they will just divide the team total of the full game by four and call it a day.
Golden State is an above average first quarter team. They average 28.5 first quarter points and have hit the 27+ that we need in 13 of their last 15 games. So if they have an 86.6% hit rate in their last 15 then why are we getting this number?
Boston's defense is elite, there are no other ways of putting it. With that being said the Celtics have still allowed four of their last seven teams they’ve faced to hit this number. If the Pistons and Pacers can hit this number then I really have confidence that Golden State can too. I'm guessing Draymond won’t be starting again but he will be a huge piece off that bench to help get screens for the splash bros in the last five minutes or so of the quarter.

Everyone knows how much better Golden State plays at home and that’s where they will be tonight. Golden State averages 4.6 more points per game at home and holds a 29-7 home record. I think this prop should hit but my shocking prediction is that I like the Celtics to win this game outright.
I won’t be betting on it but I’ve been following line movement lately and it seems like Vegas really wants people on Golden State tonight. This spread has been moving like crazy and lately, that means that the underdog will win outright and Vegas rakes in the money. Take that with a grain of salt, just a trend I’ve noticed the past weeks. I’m just the prop guy after all. Draymond is back and that will help the shooters so much. 27 is such a do-able number for this star-studded team.
