Jaren Jackson has so much talent. With that being said, he shares the court with one of the most talented players in the NBA in Ja Morant. When Ja is active we see Jackson usually play a sidekick role but tonight that won’t happen. Jaren’s splits with and without Morant are staggering. In 14 games without Ja we see Jaren average 19.9 points per game. Without him he only averages 15.6 points per game. Ja is confirmed out for tonight so I see value in this 18.5 number.
The matchup is what puts this over the top for me. Houston allows the most points to both power forwards and centers. Jackson should have his way in the paint and prove to be too much to handle. The best possible matchup in the NBA and he will be the top or second option with Desmond Bane. The spread here still favors Memphis by 10 points but if this becomes a blowout I would like to think it’s largely in part to Jackson and this has 3rd quarter cash potential.

No matter how you look at this bet it looks good. Jackson averages 3 more points a night in wins, 1.1 more points on the road, and has the best possible matchup in NBA without his teams star. I won’t personally bet it but he has 25-30 point upside if Houston can keep this competitive. Betting on day games are fun because you can pretty much watch sports all day. Basketball Sundays are the next best thing to football Sundays. Triple J isn’t a fella we bet on often due to his common foul trouble but in a spot like tonight, I have no issue rolling the dice.
