Pistons Race To 5 PTS (-140) (Bet $140 to win $100)
*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*
The editing team did not have a typo. What you read is what we are betting on. The Pistons to score 5 points first. Am I out of my mind? Perhaps. This is such a fun one though and weirdly enough makes a lot of sense. The Blazers are a shell of what they were earlier in the year but this comes down, especially to the big men for me. Nurkic is too busy throwing fans in phones to be out there playing in the game, leaving an unathletic Drew Eubanks to man the center position. Why would we pick on a guy who made us money yesterday? Because it’s a new day and there’s new money to be made.
Eubanks is a 6 foot 9 power forward. The man has won just 2 of his last 10 opening tipoffs. In a race to 5 points, I would definitely guess that winning the tipoff is a huge benefit. You might think Pistons losing Jerami Grant will hurt us but I believe it helps. Isaiah Stewart is far from a great opening tipoff man, he’s shorter than the average center and usually gets outclassed. With Grant out though, it will allow Bagley back into the starting lineup. When Bagley and Stewart have both started in the past together we have seen Bagley do the opening tip. Bagley in his four starts is 2-2 on opening tips but as someone who’s watched them all with my own eyes, he has the athleticism by a mile to best Eubanks who could barely clear a phone book.

The Blazers have lost their race to 5 points in 6 of their last 7 games and now with Josh Hart out, they lose one of their best shooters. I like the Pistons' chances better of getting to 5 points on two shots more than the Blazers because they will have more three-point shooting on the court. Saddiq Bey is in a prime position to have a big game and if he hits an early three for us then I feel great about our odds. Lastly, I’ll mention how fun this bet is. This bet will be so fun to watch and at the end of the day we all do this for fun, and this one sounds exhilarating. First to 15 was our first love, first to 5 is the fun side piece. Can’t wait for this one.
