New York Knicks vs Miami Heat Prediction
The last time the Knicks won a game in Miami, Jimmy Butler was still playing for the Bulls, Tom Thibodeau was still coaching Zach LaVine in Minnesota, and RJ Barrett hadn't yet started his senior year of high school.
March 31, 2017. That's the date of New York's most recent win in South Beach. In the time since Miami has won all six home matchups against the Knicks and are 11-3 overall against their metropolitan rivals. The Knicks have been bad for a lot of that time, but this has been a one-sided series even since New York's recent renaissance, with the Heat winning the last three games by double digits. Even the last time they played, despite a career-high 46 points from RJ Barrett, Miami ended up winning by 15.
Do we have reason to believe tonight might be different? It might just be. For one, the Knicks have been playing good ball of late, having covered a season-high seven straight games on the road. We still don't know whether Julius Randle will be available for this game, but at this point, it's unclear whether New York is better or worse without him.
On Miami's end, they've been scuffling, dropping three of five overall and five straight ATS. They're also coming off an ugly sideline incident where team leader Udonis Haslem and head coach Erik Spoelstra got into it with Jimmy Butler during a timeout. Butler is listed as questionable for tonight, along with key rotation players Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, PJ Tucker, and Caleb Martin.
If even a few of those guys miss time, New York's energetic kids, all of whom are playing big minutes at the moment, should be able to take advantage. Even with a spread this large, they may not be a no-brainer pick, but they are the right one. Take the points on the road.

Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards Prediction
The most improbable late-season run of competence in the NBA just continues to get more and more fun. Detroit's latest victim: the Hawks, who lost by 21 points to the Pistons on Wednesday night.
That win bought Detroit's record to 8-8 in their last 16 games, over which they've had a dead even point differential. They are fully healthy for the first time all year, with only reserve Hamidou Diallo currently out, and they did enough losing in the early portion of the year that they really don't need to worry about too many wins derailing the tank.

In Washington, the Pistons get a team that is heading in the opposite direction as they are. Other than the obvious tankers, there has arguably been no worse team in the league than the Wizards since their 10-3 start, with two losses for every win and a net rating that falls in the bottom quarter of the league. Worse yet, Kyle Kuzma - may be Washington's most consistent player this season - missed last night's game with a knee injury and could be sidelined tonight.
The Wiz have just one win in their last nine games and have just one road win since February 2nd. This line is close enough that that track record warrants a pick for the home team. Give the points.
