NBA Parlay Picks Breakdown

The first day of our new strategy didn't work out well, but we can't call it a bust just yet.

The Toronto Raptors keep finding ways to win, and with a roster tailor-made to Nick Nurse's current system, it's fair to say they're going to be a difficult team to handle as they keep building on their current good performances. Over the last 10 games, the Raptors have won 7 times, and outside of Gray Trent Jr. will have their core rotation available heading into tonight's contest. Things aren't looking so rosy for the Indiana Pacers though, with Myles Turner, TJ McConnell, Ricky Rubio, Chris Duarte, T.J. Warren, and Jalen Smith all set to miss tonight's game. Furthermore, Indiana has been poor all season, and it's going to be a while until Rick Carlisle has a team worthy of championship contention. In their last 10 games, the Pacers have won just 3 times, and enter today's game after suffering consecutive losses. I can't see the Pacers' suddenly figuring things out and causing the Raptors a ton of problems, which is why I'm giving Indiana a massive +15-point spread.

The Chicago Bulls are flailing right now, and look nowhere near the powerhouse we saw to begin the season. Maybe it's the continued absence of Lonzo Ball, or more likely, teams have figured them out and they're no longer an unbeatable unit. Chicago is 3-7 over their last 10 games, and they're sliding in the standings as a result. However, the oddsmakers do have the Bulls as slight favorites heading into their contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, which given Jarett Allen's continued absence, is a fair assumption. Still, Cleveland has been solid this year, not great, but solid nonetheless, and won't be an easy out tonight. The Cavaliers have won 5 of their last 10 games but did fall to the Bulls in their match-up last Sunday, which could be indicative of what's to come tonight. In my opinion, this is going to be a tightly contested game, but I'll pick a side by giving the Bulls a +6 spread heading into the contest.

Our last game on this multi-team parlay sees the Houston Rockets face off against the Portland Trail Blazers. While it wasn't the case to start the season, I think it's fair to believe that Portland is currently the least talented team in the NBA right now - especially as Damian Lillard won't be suiting up for them again this season. The Rockets, on the other hand, have found a sense of pride, and are rapidly improving on the defensive end of the floor but that hasn't stopped them dropping 7 of their last 10 games. Still, these two faced off against each other yesterday, and the Rockets took care of business in a big way, so we're backing them to do it again tonight, but just in case the Trail Blazers grab some revenge, we'll give the Rockets a +6-point spread.

Kyrie Irving is back full time, Kevin Durant is still arguably the best player in the world right now, and the Brooklyn Nets suddenly look like a monster of a team in the Eastern Conference. How can you not be loving the upturn in fortunes for a Nets team that has been riddled with crisis after crisis all season long? The Miami Heat fell to defeat last night against a short-handed New York Knicks team, and are perilously close to losing their top spot in the conference after a shocking loss of form over the last week. Miami has won 5 of their last 10 games but has dropped their last 3, and now there are rumors of discontent with Jimmy Butler and the coaching staff - any mini-implosion is coming at the worst possible time. I like Brooklyn here, but you can never count out the Heat, regardless of how they've been playing in recent days, so, a +7-point spread for the Nets can help us cover our bases here, and gives us a great opportunity to pocket some cash.

No Ja Morant, or Brandon Clarke for the Memphis Grizzlies, and question marks over Giannis Antetokounmpo for the Milwaukee Bucks, along with Jrue Holiday's absence. What should be a marquee match-up could potentially be dampened by the lack of star talent on display. However, Khris Middleton is probable for tonight's game, which is a welcomed boost to the Bucks. Both of these teams have been surging recently, and neither are looking to lose any ground as they push for the best seeding possible as we quickly approach the playoffs. The Grizzlies are 7-3 over their last 10 outings while the Bucks are 8-2 through the same number of games. So, there's very little to split these two rosters apart - of course, if Antetokounmpo plays, that will probably be enough talent to create a distinction. Still, with so many variables heading into tonight's game, I'm hard-pressed on who to choose, so, I'll be giving the team I class as the favorite a little extra rope here. I'm running with Milwaukee on a +9-point spread tonight, and will be shocked if this parlay doesn't land in the win column.
