LeBron is incredible, the man is 37 years old and we’re asking for 3 2 points out of him. With that being said he has been on an absolute tear as of late. Bron has scored 38, 38, and 36 in his last three games. He has not played since 3/21 so he should be rested for nearly a week. This just feels like another explosion night from him. In a narrative where the Lakers and Pelicans are fighting for seeding, I see LeBron getting extended run if this one remains close. LeBron scored 32 against New Orleans in their one matchup this season and played 36 minutes. The Lakers got blown out that game and he didn’t play the last 5 minutes, I expect a closer game tonight.

Late season LeBron has always been a different beast. This feels like the first of many very important games for the Lakers. I expect LeBron to treat this like a playoff game with the winner of this game passing the other in the standings. The Lakers do not have an easy road ahead so this feels like a must-win game. The Lakers end the season playing New Orleans twice, Mavs, Nuggets twice, Suns, Warriors, Jazz, and the one cupcake game are the Thunder. That is a unbelievably difficult way to end the season so the Lakers cannot afford to lose this one so I’m expecting LeBron to come out and be very aggressive.
I may sprinkle some money on LeBron 30+/Lakers win which I see for +245 on DraftKings. I’m still awaiting Fanduel to open a player performance double though so maybe they’ll be better odds. LeBron should shoot 25+ times tonight and if it stays close I like chances to play 40 minutes. I know it’s unheard of to ask of a player this old to do this much but we have no reason to believe LeBron can’t after his recent performances and success against New Orleans. The Pelicans are a team I don’t usually take forwards overs against due to my belief in Herb Jones but a motivated LeBron is someone I need at least a unit on today.
