NBA Player Prop Picks for Monday: Can Davion Mitchell Cash Again?
People slapping people is always appointment viewing to me. It just it. There's something about a man slapping another man that makes me want to gamble. I think it's because that is the ultimate gamble. Especially in front of a large crowd. By slapping a guy instead of punching him, you're literally betting he's not going to do anything. When it works, it is beautiful. We all saw that last night. But when they punch back, it kind of sucks. Tonight, I'm looking to slap the books around a little, and to do it, we need a guy that is not afraid to slap someone. Luckily for us, the Sacramento Kings are in Miami taking on the Heat at 7:30 pm ET. I have the perfect guy to slap the books for us.

Davion Mitchell Over 17.5 Points (-105) (Bet $105 to Win $100)
*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*
This one is at DraftKings for the time being but should be up everywhere else soon. I couldn't imagine the price being too much different from book to book on this one. If you want to hold out until FanDuel comes out with a 20+ for plus money, that would be smart. I just needed to get a bet in after watching Will Smith slap videos all morning.
If there's any player in the league that has been slapping lately, it's Davion Mitchell. De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis went down and he stepped up. This is all after the rest of the team got traded to the Indiana Pacers. My point is, the books have no idea how to price this kid. Since that's the case, he's made a mockery of his points props for a few games now. You just love to see it.
Over his last four games, Mitchell has played at least 35 minutes in all of them. In two of them, he went 45+. I know those games went to overtime but it still happened. No matter what, we've seen him take at least 14 shots in every game which is the bigger story. You can't score if you don't shoot. That's just how scoring works.
The haters are going to say that Miami is going to blow the Kings out tonight but I don't think it matters. For starters, the Celtics waxed the Kings recently and Mitchell still played 35 minutes. He only scored 12 points that night but that was against the best defense in the NBA. Over their last three games, only seven teams in the NBA have been worse from an efficiency standpoint than the Heat.
The thing I like is the fact that guards have been scoring on Miami recently. Over the last seven games over 47 of their opponent's points per game are coming from the guard position. Mitchell has dropped at least 22 points in each of his last three games and one of those games was against the Phoenix Suns. He's not just beating up on scrubs. I think he can score at least 18 points tonight. Maybe even slap the Heat for 20+.
