Poeltl isn’t a guy we bet on too often but with the few times we have, he has respected our cash. At this point in the year, it’s all about paying our respects and the offseason wouldn’t have sat right with me without giving this man one last play. Poeltl loves playing Memphis this year. He has played against them three times and has put up 16, 18 and 15 points. Average of 16.3 points per game and a three for three hit rate. Only needing 14 feels low to me. You could argue that this is a fair number but with his history vs Adams and recent scoring output, I see value.
Poeltl has scored 14+ PTS in 10 of his last 15 games. In that span he averaging 15.3 points per game. Tonight's game is a home game where Poeltl averages 1.5 more points per game as well. The game spread is only 5.5 so it definitely could stay close despite how great Memphis has been playing this year. I'm guessing the public will be heavy on Memphis -5.5 so my best educational guess is that San Antonio actually covers here. Memphis isn’t the best matchup in the NBA but Jakob has proven to be effective vs them in the past. Memphis has been allowing this prop to big men who are less involved in the offense. Guys like Capela, Drummond, Bitadze, and others have cleared this line on low volume.

Why I like this prop the most is how much I feel like this team will rally down the stretch for Gregg Popovich. San Antonio has the same record as the Lakers and would love to make the play-in tournament for him. There are rumors that this is his last season and if so he needs to at least go out in the tournament and not abruptly in game 82. Pop is arguably the greatest coach the NBA has ever seen and he has the accolades to show for it. It just feels right that this team will leave it all on the court for him to respect his legacy. Poeltl needs 7 buckets and seems like a respectable guy, go make it happen.
