The New Orleans Pelicans will travel west to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers, who were the favorite to come out of the west in the pre-season will be looking to avoid falling out of the play-in position tonight. The bottom line is that it has been a nightmare season for the Lakers from the beginning. This is a roster that simply was not built that well, and they have had to deal with a lot of injuries along the way. The most significant came in the form of Anthony Davis, who returns tonight. Davis, who is a former Pelican, will look to come back in this game and give the Lakers the spark they need.
The scary thing is with a healthy AD and LeBron James playing perhaps his best basketball ever, this is still going to be a tough team to beat. Russell Westbrook has got a lot of criticism this year, but his play has actually picked up in the second half of the season. The Pelicans started the year winning just two of their first fifteen games, but they have been able to turn around their season and look like they will get an opportunity in a play in-game. The addition of guard CJ McCollum has been a welcoming sight, and Brandon Ingram has had a very good season for the Pels. They have done this all without their star in Zion Williamson, who looks like he will miss the rest of the season,

I am going to back the Lakers tonight at home. I know what the people are thinking is this an April's fool joke, but it is not. I believe this is a really good spot for the Lakers playing at home and getting Davis back. This should give this team some life and help spark them on a run.
I believe the Lakers will make the play in, and if AD can stay healthy, I think they will make the playoffs. The Lakers have been good to us this year as dogs, and once again they are a short dog tonight. The last time these teams played, the Lakers blew a twenty-point lead to the pelicans, but they proved they match up well across the board with the pelicans. This should be a great spot for the Lakers tonight on their home floor in a game that they desperately need to win. Let’s say hot on the hardwood!
