Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers Same-Game Parlay: SI Sportsbook Bet Builder Offers Enticing Payouts
Are the NBA playoffs really going to be played without Lebron James this year? ESPN’s BPI has that answer as a resounding yes, as the metric gives the Denver Nuggets, who currently occupy the Western Conference’s No. 6 seed, a better chance than the Los Angeles Lakers. While Denver’s overall playoff hopes are not in jeopardy, they do have a 16% chance of being relegated to the play-in tournament. Conversely, the Lakers, who start the day in 11th place, have just an 11% chance of earning a top-ten seed and a berth in the play-in tournament.
With these scenarios in mind, we used SI Sportsbook’s Bet Builder to construct a three-leg same-game parlay for this afternoon’s Nuggets-Lakers game.

Leg 1: Nuggets ML
The Lakers are +130 ML underdogs and are +2.5 point home underdogs to the Nuggets this afternoon. This is common for Los Angeles, who are underdogs for the 11th time in 40 home games. The Lakers are 4-6 SU in that role, while the Nuggets are one of the league’s best at 14-5 SU as road favorites.Â
Both teams will be plenty motivated as Denver looks to avoid the play-in tournament (two games ahead of the No. 7 seed Timberwolves) while Los Angeles is fighting for its playoff lives. However, it is fair to wonder if the Lakers bring a defeatist attitude into this game. They are one game behind the No. 10 seed Spurs but are essentially two games back, considering San Antonio has the head-to-head tiebreaker. In addition, Los Angeles’ schedule is brutal down the stretch, closing with road games against Phoenix, Golden State, and Denver with a home game against Oklahoma City mixed in.
The home crowd will quickly show its displeasure with their team if they fall behind early, and we look for Denver to get back into the win column after having a three-game winning streak snapped on Friday.
Leg 2: Nikola Jokic 40+ Points/Rebounds/Assists
The following is what Nikola Jokic did in March:
- 449 points (ranked third in the NBA)
- 191 rebounds (second)
- 119 assists (fifth)
- 25 steals (tied for seventh)
- 21 blocks (tied for sixth)
Per ESPN Stats & Info, he became the second player ever to finish a month in the top ten in all five categories since blocks and steals became official.Â
April started just as nicely for Jokic as he went for 38/19/8 against Minnesota. Jokic now has -250 odds to win the MVP, and we look for him to take advantage of a nationally televised afternoon game against one of the NBA’s most iconic franchises to further his case to take home the hardware.
Leg 3: LeBron James OVER 27.5 points
While we like the Nuggets to win the game, LeBron James will not go out without a fight. LeBron scored 38 points in Friday’s loss to the Pelicans, which marked the second time he has scored 35+ points in five consecutive games in his career. However, James may need to carry more of the scoring load than usual, as it is uncertain what the Lakers can expect from Anthony Davis on a short turnaround after missing the previous six weeks with a sprained foot. The Lakers may miss the playoffs this year, but it won’t be for LeBron’s lack of effort to conclude the regular season.
