After all of their trials and tribulations this season, the Brooklyn Nets are on the verge of entering the postseason in fairly decent shape.
Thanks to a 9-5 stretch that has taken them from a game under .500 to being in control of their own destiny for the seventh seed, the Nets only have to beat the Knicks, Cavs, and Pacers to secure home court in the 7/8 play-in game in the Eastern Conference. At this point, that would mean a date with either the Celtics, Bucks, or Sixers. Milwaukee is arguably still the team to beat, but Boston isn't whole after the Robert Williams injury while Philly continues to struggle after the initial high of the Harden trade.
If things continue to break right, they'll also face Cleveland in that play-in matchup, and the Cavs haven't been anywhere near the team that started off the season in such impressive fashion. In other words, the Nets have to like their chances in the postseason.

They also have to like their chances tonight. Brooklyn has won six straight against their crosstown counterparts, and while the games continue to come down to the wire, Brooklyn always seems to make the big plays at the end. Normally, that would set up a scenario for taking the Knicks here, especially with how well New York's kids have been playing. The Knicks are 10-6 in their last 16 games but are also just 4-6 against the spread in their last 10.
If this was a bigger spread, you'd still feel good about taking New York, but they simply haven't earned a benefit of the doubt this significant. Take the team that needs the W and give the points on the road.

All things considered, the Bulls shouldn't be disappointed with a six seed this year, especially given all of their injuries.
Now that that caveat is out of the way, let's be realistic. The Bulls haven't been anywhere close to the same team without a healthy Lonzo Ball in the lineup. Chicago is 22-13 with him and just 23-21 without him. In addition to that, Zach LaVine is banged up and is questionable for tonight's game. It seems as if the Bulls, even though they are in the playoffs, are set to be a quick out. Since the break, Chicago is just 7-13 and they're getting outscored by 6.4 points per 100 possessions.

Boston, even with the loss of Robert Williams, has been solid. After initial close losses in Toronto and against Miami - two of the better teams recently - the Celtics beat Indiana by four and Washington by 42. There's no reason to expect them to drop the ball here, especially against a Chicago team that has covered just six games since the break. Give the points and ride the better team.
