Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans Prediction: Can Devin Booker Help the Suns Control This Series
DraftKings brought these beauties back. If you go under “Same-Game Parlay” and scroll all the way down under points you will find these. FanDuel also added them for the playoffs as single bets but I see Booker at 8.5 over there and I think there’s a real possibility he could end with 8 exactly. I’ll take the 10-point favorite to win at home instead of the extra Booker point. Let's get into why I love this one so much.

On first glance to someone who’s not familiar with the Suns rotation this could look crazy. Booker's points prop is set at 27.5 and if you divide that by four quarters that would only project him around 7 points a quarter which wouldn’t give us value. When you dive deeper though it’s phenomenal. Devin Booker doesn’t sit in the 1st quarter, he just doesn’t. Booker played the 2nd most 1st quarter minutes in the league this year only trailing Kevin Durant. He plays 11.4 minutes of the possible 12 on the season. The only times he would sit are rare foul trouble and never for conditioning or cold shooting. Booker averages 9.3 1Q PTS on the season, and in his last 10 games, he averages 11.5 1Q PTS. Including game 1 we have seen Devin play New Orleans five times and he has games of 10, 11, 11, 13 and 5. The game with 5 was the first meeting between these two teams and was within the first few games of the year where players were adjusting to the new ball.
Booker is such a great scorer to start games and I don’t see Phoenix losing to New Orleans at home as long as Zion is terrorizing all you can east buffets across New Orleans. This feels like one of those bets that people won’t even look at because how weird it is and that’s why I love it. Booker has hit this in 4/5 vs New Orleans and has been a microwave lately averaging nearly two made field goals more than this number across his last 10 games. If for whatever reason McCollum and Ingram come out blazing but Booker hits for us it has potential hedge potential but I don’t see us going that route. Lets roll!
