We have not lost an NBA play since April 12th, and I found another gem for us tonight! The Memphis Grizzlies will travel north to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a pivotal game three tonight. The Wolves enter play as the number seven seed punching their ticket via the play in-game when they came back late to defeat the Clippers. Thanks to star guard Ja Morant, the Grizzlies' playoff hopes were never in doubt this season. The Grizzlies got off to a hot start and really never looked back. Their season was so good that they earned themselves a home-court advantage for the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Minnesota feels as if they did their job in this series so far; the Wolves went into Memphis and stole the first game, led by guard Anthony Edwards and big man Karl Anthony Towns. The Grizzlies knew they had to bounce back in game two, and they did so, picking up their largest win ever in a postseason game in franchise history.

This is a team in Memphis that many thinks can compete for a championship. It is hard to say they can’t due to their young guns led by Morant. Desmond Bane has had a huge season for the Grizzlies, and shooting guard Dillon Brooks is one of the best two-way players in all of the NBA.

The Timberwolves are playing in just their second postseason since 2003-2004. You have to turn your clocks back to the Kevin Garnett and Sam Cassel days. That is the last Timberwolves team to win a playoff series. The Wolves will look to ink their names in the playoff history books with a series win here. This third game is known to be pivotal so expect both teams to play with a ton of energy tonight. 

I am going to back the road team here in the Memphis Grizzlies.

We had the Grizzlies on Tuesday night when they blew the doors off the Wolves, and that game showed me that this young team is fearless. I believe that win was huge for these guys, mentally showing them that they belong and how good this team really is. I respect Minnesota as a team, but I struggle to back teams in the playoffs that are not good on the defensive end. I believe the Grizzlies have far too many match-up advantages across the court, particularly with the speed this team has. The Wolves simply can not get enough stops to keep pace with this Grizzlies team.

The Grizzlies were one of the best road teams during the regular season, posting a road record of 26-15 on the campaign. This is a team that, as I mentioned earlier, plays without fear which is key this time of year. We will see a great game tonight, but I am putting my faith in this young Grizzlies team to answer the call. Let’s stay hot on the hardwood!
