Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat Prediction: Can Trae Young and the Hawks Cash the Upset in Game 3?

The Atlanta Hawks will play host to the Miami Heat on Friday night in game three of this seven-game series. The Heat have jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Hawks, led by stellar play from all-star Jimmy Butler. The play of Hawks star Trae Young has not been up to par in the first couple of games in this series. Young has been held under his average in both of these first two games.

Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat Prediction

The Heat entered the playoffs as the number one seed in the east and are showing why so far. This is a team that has a ton of experience and winning on it. They have multiple former NBA champions headlined by Kyle Lowry and PJ Tucker. Their head coach Eric Spoelstra has a couple of rings and is one of the brightest minds in all of the game. This is a well-oiled machine in Miami, and the Hawks know this will be a tough team to overcome. If they are going to do it, they need to steal a home win tonight vs. this hungry Miami team.

The Hawks have had to deal with multiple injuries this season as star John Collins missed a solid portion of the year. Collins has returned in the last couple of games showing that he can produce at a high level. The injury the Hawks are currently looking to overcome comes in the form of big man Clint Capela. Capela is known as one of the best rebounders in the NBA while providing great rim protection. The Hawks have struggled to get stops at times in this series, and Clint Capela's absence is a large reason for that. The spread for tonight’s game sits at -1.5 in favor of the road Heat.

I am backing the home dog tonight. I believe some dogs will bark tonight after public domination last night with the Grizzlies and Warriors. This is my favorite dog tonight, and here is why. Atlanta loves to play at home, posting a record of 20-3 at home since the new year. They play with supreme confidence at home, and tonight is going to be the biggest game of their season. We see this a lot in the playoffs.

The better team goes on the road and is a short favorite. I believe this is a trap line tonight on Miami and that the value we are getting here on the Hawks is too good to pass up. The Hawks have responded well to losses this season, and they should do so again tonight. Trae Young will have a breakout game after being held down a bit in the last couple of games. The Hawks have stayed close despite Young not being in normal form, which is encouraging to me tonight. Let’s stay hot on the hardwood!
