Phoenix Suns vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction

The Pelicans started the season as one of the worst teams in all of the NBA, but they were able to turn their season around. That is in large thanks to Brandon Ingram and the addition of veteran guard CJ McCollum. The young players for the Pelicans have really stepped up in this series, including rookie Herb Jones. Jones has got a lot of national attention the last few days and rightfully so. His defense all series has been outstanding, especially in game four.

The Suns know their best player, Devin Booker, is going to be out for the next couple of weeks. They will have to win this series in his absence and need other guys to step up. The Suns answered the call on Friday night when they beat the Pelicans on the road, but Sunday was a different story. The Pelicans dominated the second half playing with great energy all half. The Suns could not find any momentum in the game, and Chris Paul had one of his worst playoff games in the last few years. Paul was held to four points which is not going to cut it when Booker is out of the lineup. The Suns will need to bounce back at home tonight, or they will be in some serious trouble!

The play I am turning to is going to be to back the Phoenix Suns on the two-possession spread. I love this Suns team due to their great coaching but also their depth. Devin Booker is a huge loss, that’s for sure, but they have so many other guys who can step up. Deandre Ayton has been great the last few games scoring the basketball, and I expect him to be more aggressive tonight. I also expect a huge bounce-back game from Chris Paul tonight and for him to be much more aggressive shooting the basketball. We have hit on every game this series, and I believe this is a steal of a line tonight for the Suns at home off a loss. Let’s cash this on tonight!
