Minnesota Timberwolves vs Memphis Grizzlies Same Game Parlay: Can Karl-Anthony Towns Be Trusted In Game 6?
The Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves have given us one of the most entertaining back-and-forths of Round 1. And, the Memphis-Minnesota series happens to be the only first-round matchup remaining. With a win tonight at home, the T-Wolves can force a Game 7 in Memphis on Sunday. But, with Karl-Anthony Towns in a difficult individual matchup, Minnesota's prospects of staying alive don't look great.

Towns was selected as an All-Star for the third time in his career this season and is a near-lock to receive an All-NBA nod as well. However, he has a postseason track record that does not exactly inspire much confidence. Across ten career playoff games, his scoring average sits at just 18.9 points per game, down from his career 23.2 PPG in the regular season. The big man also has a bad habit of frequently getting into foul trouble, which can only help our under for tonight.

Leg 1: Karl-Anthony Towns Under 29.5 Points
Leg 2: Karl-Anthony Towns Under 13.5 Rebounds
There's some tremendous value to be had with Karl-Anthony Towns tonight when we take his alternate lines over on FanDuel. If this parlay isn't available for you, I'm also a big fan of taking KAT Under 25.5 Points or Under 37.5 Points + Rebounds. However, his hit rates on this SGP for the season and in this series point to it being the best option.
Towns has cashed this play in four of five games this series. And, he's averaging just 20.7 PPG and 10.0 RPG this postseason, as his struggles date back to Minnesota's play-in victory over the Clippers.
This parlay was a success in 53 of 74 games this regular season, good for a 71.6% hit rate. He averaged just 24.6 PPG and 9.8 RPG in the regular season, and has an even worse history when facing off against Memphis, in particular, this season.
The Wolves and Grizzlies have faced off nine times in total this season. The Kentucky product has posted just 22.9 PPG and 10.2 RPG across these games. And, he's totaled fewer than 30 points and fewer than 14 rebounds in eight of these nine contests. The Grizzlies have employed a strategy against the seventh-year center that has seemed to pay off. Memphis is limiting his touches and forcing more perimeter shots from other T-Wolves players, while also limiting the number of open jumpers Towns sees.
The 2015 first-overall draft pick is attempting just 3.8 threes per game, down from 4.9 in the regular season. And, his Usage Rate is down to 24.3% in this series, down from 27.7% USG in the regular season. His court awareness, poor basketball IQ, and foul-trouble issues have also caught up with him in a major way over the last two weeks. KAT has led the NBA in personal fouls committed twice in his career, and he still can't figure out how to defend NBA athletes without using his hands. He's committed at least 5 fouls in four of his last six games, putting a ceiling on his minutes.
Karl-Anthony Towns has a history of disappearing in big games, such as tonight's Game 6 showdown with Minnesota's season on the line. And, he hasn't found much success in racking up either 30+ points or 14+ rebounds this season. With Memphis likely to deploy Brandon Clarke as their small-ball five for much of tonight's contest, we have an obvious fade spot for KAT.
