Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction: Will James Harden and the 76ers Bounce Back in Game 2?

The Philadelphia 76ers vs. the Miami Heat will take place tonight from Miami in a pivotal game two. The Heat will look to take a 2-0 lead over the shorthanded 76ers before the series turns back to the city of brotherly love. The 76ers are missing their superstar and the leagues scoring champion in the form of Joel Embiid. Embiid is expected to play in game three but will miss tonight’s game along with missing game one.

Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game 2 Line Movement

Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

The first game was a tale of two halves as Philly led the game going to the locker room. The Sixers pushed their lead out to five points early in the third, and then it was a route from that point on in favor of the hometown Heat. Miami ended up blowing the doors off Philly in the second half giving themselves a sweat-free game one winner.

This is a big game tonight for Philly. If they can steal this game and head back home with Embiid returning, they probably feel ok. The Heat, on the other side, knows how key it is to take care of business in the absence of Embiid. The star in game one for the Heat was the man who was just awarded l sixth man of the year in Tyler Herro. Herro, who was a lottery pick out of Kentucky came in the game and gave the Heat a huge spark. He was great in the second half, helping lead the Heat to the win. Tobias Harris was outstanding for Philly in game one showing why he inked a max contract. James Harden has caught a lot of criticism for the way he played in game one, being limited to just sixteen points.

I am backing the dog in Philly tonight because I believe they are being spotted too many points tonight. Philly played a great first half but just ran out of gas in the second half. I expect a much more focused effort from Philly tonight, especially in Harden. Harden was solid in game one, in my opinion running the offense. The real issue for Philly was their role players not stepping up.

Danny Green and George Niang, who are two guys Philly counts on to shoot the three-ball well, couldn’t put the ball in the ocean in game one. Harden set them up for a lot of gold looks they just didn’t execute. I would call the majority of Philly misses in game one capable misses meaning they are quality shots that will typically fall. The Heat really didn’t impress me from an offensive standpoint. I think Philly gained some confidence in-game on the defensive end. Tobias Harris has been great all playoffs, so I expect him to step up once again tonight as well for Philly. This should be a tight one all night. Let’s cash in!
