Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Prediction

The Dallas Mavericks versus the Phoenix Suns will take place on Tuesday night from Phoneix in a pivotal game five. This has been a tale of two stories so far in this series. The first tale was the Suns dominating at home and looking like they may potentially sweep, and the next was the Mavericks looking dominant at home and making people question if the Suns can get past this Mavericks team.

Game four was a nightmare for future hall of fame point guard Chris Paul. Paul, who put the team on his back in game two, had two of his worst playoff games of his career in games three and four. He turned the ball over seven times in game three and followed that act up with fouling out of game four scoring just five points.

Devin Booker did everything he could, but it wasn’t enough as the Maverick's hot there point shooting led by former Florida Gator Dorian Finney Smith proved to be too much. Davis Bertans, who was acquired in the Kristaps Porzinigs trade, was hotter than the left sink handle in the first half.

The Suns cut the lead to five early in the third when Chris Paul committed his fifth foul. They just could not get in a flow, and the Mavs took advantage.

The star player in the series for Dallas has been the pride of Slovenia, Luka Doncic. Doncic is quickly becoming one of the best players in all of the NBA, and he is well aware if Dallas can pull off the upset tonight that, they will have a shot to knock off the Suns on their home court. The Suns enter this one as a six-point favorite.

I am backing the Suns here at -6 as I believe this will be a sweat-free winner. We are 3-1 in this series after the Suns let us down in game four, but we are 2-0 backing them at home on identical lines.

I am pretty shocked we are getting this line tonight. The Suns are one of the best teams in the NBA following losses in general, but they don’t often lose two in a row, let alone three in a row. Chris Paul will have a breakout game after being awful in the last two games, and I expect a different brand of defense tonight from the Suns.

Devin Booker will continue his stellar play, and I think the Suns need to go inside early with Ayton and take advantage of that miss-match. This is the perfect get-right spot tonight for the Suns, who should cover this two-possession spread with ease. Let’s stay hot tonight!
