Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics Game 1 Prediction
The NBA Finals match-up between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics has all the pieces necessary to provide us with a memorable series. Who knows? Maybe the sea of blowouts we suffered through this postseason were meant to set the stage for an all-time NBA Finals... I digress.
As far as Steve Kerr and the Warriors in Game 1’s historically, what they’ve accomplished is outright impressive. Under Steve Kerr, the Warriors have won 13 straight Game 1’s played at home. The Warriors are beating teams by an average of 14.56 pts per game at home this postseason. The Boston Celtics will not roll over. Let's not forget the Celtics had to get through the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Miami Heat to get to the Finals. While I expect a great series and game, I’m not going to overcomplicate things. I’m taking the Golden State Warriors moneyline for Game 1.
All signs point to Marcus Smart being tasked with guarding Steph Curry, an assignment no one wants. I’m not sure how healthy Smart, or Robert Williams are at this point either. Not only that, but the Warriors might be getting Gary Payton II back for Game 1.
This postseason, the Warriors are 6-1 at home, with their single loss coming against the Grizzlies in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. I’ll take the Warriors to stay hot at home and beat the Celtics in Game 1.
