ANALYSIS

Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors Best Bet: Can Derrick White Bounce Back In a Pivotal Game 6?

Game 6 of the NBA Finals will kick off from Boston at 9:00 p.m. ET tonight. The Warriors were able to take the series lead in Game 5, winning 104-94 behind a strong effort from Andrew Wiggins.

Celtics vs. Warriors Game 6 Prediction

Now, the Celtics' backs are against the wall and they face elimination at home. Can the Celtics force a game seven? I'm not sure; this is a hard game to call. The Celtics are 7-1 against the spread after a loss this postseason and have played mostly well at home.

However, they've gone back-to-back games with under 100 points, and their offense has looked stagnant. Instead of making a call on the side, I have a prop that I love.

Derrick White seems to be a popular fade for Game 6. White had a horrible game five, shooting 0-4 while scoring one point, one rebound, and three assists. As a result, his points, rebounds, and assists line (PRA) has dropped from 16.5 in game five to 14.5 in Game 6.

White's PRA line was also lower in Game 1, posted at 13.5, and he ended up with 25 PRA in 31 minutes of playing time. White has had an average PRA line of 15.9 in this series and has averaged 15.2 PRA per game. However, I think people are overreacting to his Game 5 performance, and I expect a bounce-back game from White.

White has averaged 16.8 PRA in the last ten games, and with a non-existent effort in game five, he will have less focus from the Warrior's defense. The Warriors will have their eyes peeled on Tatum and Brown, leaving entries for White, which is where he has found his success in this series.

The Bench scoring has been the biggest problem for the Celtics. They need more points from their bench. In Game 5, the Celtics had 10 total points off their bench, and I believe that is a direct correlation to their offensive woes. Bench production is something the Celtics need to rely on, and White is one of their best players off the bench. As a result, I think we see a big bounce back for White in Game 6.

White has hit over 14.5 PRA in three of the five games in the series, and his line climbed as high as 17.5 in game three. I think people are too quick to take the under here after a poor performance from White in game five, but a big game from their bench players like White is exactly what the Celtics need. White has consistently played over 20 minutes in the finals, and he should play 25-30 minutes tonight. Take Derrick White to hit over 14.5 points, rebounds, and assists.
