2022 NBA Draft: Where Will Bennedict Mathurin Go Tonight?
Drafts are always a great time for betting. The anticipation between each pick, and waiting to hear the name of your pick being read off is exhilarating. While draft betting can be fun, it should be just that. I would never advise trying to double bankrolls or bet drafts "professionally" because, at the end of the day, no one really knows who is going where with 100% certainty. Hell, even the books are confused, and the lines have flipped on Jabari Smith going number one like ten times. I'm staying far away from betting the number one overall pick, although it surely will be Jabari Smith or Paolo Banchero. Instead, I'm eyeing the 6'6" wing player from Arizona, Bennedict Mathurin.

NBA Draft Predictions
- Play: Bennedict Mathurin U6.5 @ -280 (Bet $280 to win $100)
- Play: Bennedict Mathurin Goes #4 @ +3000 (Bet $100 to win $3000)
Yeah, I know. This is the most juice I have ever played in an article, but I don't realistically see a single path to this bet losing. It's a scary amount of juice, but it can be hard to avoid juice when betting on drafts. This line was as low as -140 a few days ago, which would've been a much more favorable price, but the line movement all but increases my feeling towards the play. Bennedict Mathurin is currently +3000 to go number four at Fanduel, which is the highest of any book I have looked at.
It seems that +1500 is around his average number. The popular play to go fourth is Jaden Ivey. However, I've seen news that Ivey refuses to work with the Kings and has been open about not wanting to be drafted by the Kings. Not the kind of thing you want from a player you want to draft. However, Mathurin is a great pick.
Bennedict Mathurin is just as athletic as Ivey and an excellent shooter. He is also a better defender than Ivey, in my eyes. Ivey will still probably go fourth, especially if the Kings trade their pick, but +3000 is worth a stab in my eyes for a similar player that is easier to work with and is a better defender to begin with. If Mathurin doesn't go fourth, he will undoubtedly be picked up by the Pistons, who need precisely the kind of player that Mathurin is. Eat the juice on this one, no matter how bad it hurts, because Mathurin will be drafted before the seventh pick.
