Kenyon Martin Jr. Over 3.5 Points *1st Quarter (+115) (Bet $100 to collect $215) Get the best odds, available at DraftKings
We have to go to DraftKings for this one since they are the only ones giving us first-quarter points props. I'll be honest with you, these things are beautiful. They are everything we gamblers need and more. My grandfather always used to say, "if you can bet on a guy to get two buckets in the first quarter at plus money, you do it." Honestly, that's the best advice a kid can get and that advice did not go to waste. I wish more books would let us do these.
Let me tell you something about this Kenyon Martin Jr. guy: His dad was an animal back in the day. I swear, if he didn't break his leg in the 2000 Conference USA tournament, the Cincinnati Bearcats would have won the whole thing. He was that good. We're talking best player in the country good. Then when he got to the NBA, it only took a couple of years to get to the NBA Finals. The bottom line, he was a bad man and there's no way any kid of his should be 3.5 for plus money in first-quarter scoring. What in the hell is happening right now?
Here's the thing though, even if this wasn't Kenyon Martin's kid, he still shouldn't be a 3.5-plus money guy. For starters, he'll play 10 minutes in the first quarter unless he gets into foul trouble, which he never even does. Still, I'm not worried about fouls. Just last game, he had this wrapped up in the first 90 seconds so no amount of fouls was stopping him. These 3.5s are super low bars so if you see a guy with any volume whatsoever getting plus money, we should take him (probably).

Tonight people are going to see the Cleveland Cavaliers and get nervous since they have the second-best defense in the NBA. It's fine. For starters, they are on the road, and on top of that, they're middle of the pack over the last three games in terms of efficiency. Donovan Mitchell is out so there's that too. There's really no other stat we can look to since this will come down to whether a guy hits two shots in the first quarter or not. I think the Rockets come out quick since they just played last night. If that happens, Martin should get loose early. Even if they don't, he could still score twice in the first quarter. Feels easy.
