The Raptors west coast road trip rolls into Wednesday night, and I'm eyeing an NBA player prop pick in this one. Here's why I'm backing Scottie Barnes.

We're at Barstool for this one since they're giving us the best price in the game. It literally doesn't get any better unless you count BetRivers because they have the same thing. Obviously, we care about the number because he will need to get over that for us to win our bet, but the price is just as important, if not more. People don't even talk about that, which is crazy to me. Everyone else in this market has -120 or even higher while we're just getting even money like a bunch of kings (and queens). Living the dream.
So here's the thing, I'd bet this on price alone, but there are also basketball reasons to get down on this thing. I'm serious. For starters, OG Anunoby is out again tonight. They're actually saying he's out for the current road trip. So far, in OG's absence, this Barnes kid is lighting it up (a little). He went for 35 PRAs in the first full game with OG sitting. Hell, the night OG went down, Barnes went for 35 PRAs. The only time he hasn't hit this number is last time out against Phoenix when he finished with 28.
The Phoenix thing can be explained as they are a very good defensive team. On top of that, they play slowly. Slower possessions mean fewer stats. Us over people hate that. It should be illegal, but I'm not in charge of what's legal and what's not, so I have nothing to do with that. Whatever. The good thing about today is we don't have to worry about defense or pace. The Raptors are in Utah taking on the Jazz, who rank 25th in defensive efficiency, and they run at a top-10 pace. Fast and loose, just how we like it. I'd be shocked if this Barnes kid doesn't have this number by halftime. Feels right.
