If you're not looking to go as high as 8.5, then you could do 7.5 (-140) at Bet365 or even 7.5 (-135) at DraftKings. Still, I don't want to pay that much for this so that's why I went the 8.5 route. We're talking LeBron James here so I get that it's tough to go this high on assists. It's scary. He's a guy that is going to be the NBA's all-time leading scorer any day now so the idea that he's dropping nine dimes feels crazy. Still, it's not. For starters, over his last three games, he's gone for 11 assists twice and eight in the other game. We're looking at 17.5 potential assists a game here. The time he went for eight was against the Boston Celtics whose opponents don't have a very high percentage of assisted field goals. Getting eight is like getting 12 against someone else (probably).

Tonight the Lakers will see an opponent that likes to run which is a great start. The Indiana Pacers are sixth in the league in possessions per game. Up and down baby. On top of that, only one team (Portland) in the NBA is playing worse defense in terms of efficiency over the last three games. That's a great combination but what I like the most is the fact that 67.4% of the field goals made against the Pacers in that three-game run have come via the assist. Only one team sees a higher rate. I think LeBron is in line for another triple-double tonight.
