Oklahoma Sooners vs. Kansas Jayhawks: Odds, Picks & Predictions
PICK OF THE DAY: (2u) Kansas -11.5 @ -110
Oklahoma @ No. 3 Kansas, 12:00 PM:
- The Oklahoma Sooners have an 18-24 record in games played during February since the 2014-15 college basketball season. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Kansas
No. 3 Kansas is sizzling hot. The Jayhawks will enter this matchup on an impressive nine-game winning streak. In their last game on Wednesday night against No. 14 West Virginia, Devon Dotson did a little bit of everything as he finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block for the Jayhawks in a 58-49 win over the Mountaineers.
Marcus Garrett added nine points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Jayhawks.
Kansas is clearly a true contender for the NCAA championship this season. In their last two games, the Jayhawks have held their opponents to 50 or fewer points for the first time since 2013. Also, the Jayhawks have held 15 of their last 24 opponents to below 40 percent shooting.
Kansas at home minus the 11.5 points here is the pick. Feel confident taking the Jayhawks
(1u) Baylor -6.5 @ -110
No. 14 West Virginia @ No. 1 Baylor, 4:00 PM:
- Since the 2013-14 college basketball season, the Baylor Bears have a 41-15 record as a home team in day games. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Baylor
No. 1 Baylor enters this matchup with only one loss on its record and that came all the way back in the second game of the season against Washington.
The Baylor Bears will have their work cut out for them when they host West Virginia on Saturday afternoon. In their last game against Texas on Monday night, MaCio Teague finished with a team-high 11 points to go with eight rebounds for Baylor in a 52-45 win over the Longhorns.
Baylor is on fire, and quite frankly I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. The Bears are on a program-record 21-game winning streak, and their impressive defensive showing is the reason why. They most certainly will meet their match when they host the Mountaineers in this game, but Baylor is the pick.
Take the Bears minus the 6.5 points in this one.
(1u) Duke -12.5 @ -110
Notre Dame @ No. 7 Duke, 4:00 PM:
- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a 31-40 record when playing as an away team after traveling since the 2011-12 college basketball season. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Duke
No. 7 Duke is riding a six-game winning streak since it lost back-to-back games to Clemson and Louisville back in mid-January.
In the Blue Devils’ last game against No. 8 Florida State on Monday night, Tre Jones finished with 13 points, six assists and three boards in a 70-65 win over the Seminoles.
Next on the schedule is Notre Dame, a team that the Blue Devils cannot look past.
The Fighting Irish were on a four-game winning streak of their own before they lost 50-49 to Virginia on Tuesday night. Look for Duke to take advantage of Notre Dame in this size especially on the offensive end of the floor. The Blue Devils are the highest scoring team in the ACC, averaging 81.9 points per contest.
Roll with Duke here.
