Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Indiana Hoosiers: Odds, Picks & Predictions
PICK OF THE DAY: (2u) Indiana -1 @ -105
No. 9 Penn State @ Indiana, 12:00 PM:
- The Indiana Hoosiers have a 4-2 record against Penn State since the 2015-16 college basketball season. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Indiana
Indiana will look to make it back-to-back wins when it hosts Penn State on Sunday afternoon.
Trayce Jackson-Davis finished with a game-high 27 points to go with 16 rebounds and two blocks for the Hoosiers in a big 68-56 win over Minnesota on Wednesday night.
Indiana has won 11 of its last 14 games against the Nittany Lions, but Penn State came away with a 64-49 win over the Hoosiers back on Jan. 29 on its home court.
I like the Hoosiers in this game. Indiana has a 13-3 record on its home court, with featured victories over Florida State, Iowa, Michigan State and Ohio State. Feel confident taking the Hoosiers minus the one point in this matchup.
(1u) Maryland +2.5 @ -110
No. 7 Maryland @ No. 25 Ohio State, 4:00 PM:
- Maryland has won each of its last nine games. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Maryland
No. 9 Maryland enters this contest on an impressive nine-game winning streak. In its last game against Northwestern on Tuesday night, Jalen Smith collected 22 points to go with a career-high 19 points for the Terrapins in a 76-67 win over the Wildcats.
When Maryland visits Ohio State on Sunday afternoon, it will look to sweep its Big Ten opponent. Back on Jan. 7, the Terrapins claimed a 67-55 win at home behind 20 points from Anthony Cowan and 11 points and seven boards from Smith.
The Buckeyes have won five out of their last seven games, but they don’t stand a chance against visiting Maryland. Take the Terps plus the 2.5 points in this matchup.
(1u) Creighton -5.5 @ -105
No. 21 Butler @ No. 15 Creighton, 4:00 PM:
- Creighton has won 19 of its last 20 games at the CHI Health Center Omaha. Stat courtesy of Statschecker.
The reason we’re backing Creighton
No. 15 Creighton enters this contest on a four-game winning streak with featured victories over Seton Hall, St. John’s and Marquette.
This matchup against Butler is a rematch of a game back on Jan. 4 when the Bulldogs answered the bell at home in the Big East showdown. Kamar Baldwin led Butler with 20 points, and Sean McDermott added 18 more in a convincing 71-57 victory.
Creighton has a lot at stake now that it defeated Seton Hall. The Bluejays have a legitimate chance at earning the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament, if they manage to take down Butler on Sunday, and follow it up with a win against Seton Hall on March 7.
Both teams are trending in opposite directions. Over Butler’s last 12 games, it has a 5-7 record, while Creighton is an impressive 9-3. I like the hot hand in this one. Roll with Creighton minus the 5.5 points.
