Old Dominion vs. Charlotte

The mid-major play of the day is the 9-9 (7-9 ATS) Charlotte 49ers at home against the 9-5 (4-8-1 ATS) Old Dominion Monarchs. Charlotte comes into this game dropping their last two. However, both of those were road games. Charlotte has won their last three home games. One of which was against UAB, which is the 88th ranked team in the country, according to KenPom. Old Dominion is 3-4 straight up on the road. Their best road win was a three-point win against 180th ranked Rice.

Charlotte is ranked 209th on offense and 178th on defense according to KenPom. ODU is ranked 184th and 155th. This will be a classic battle of offense vs. defense. Charlotte holds the advantage in a few key offensive stats. Charlotte ranks 168th in 3 point shooting % and ODU ranks 300th defending the 3. Charlotte ranks 78th in 2 point shooting % while ODU ranks 219th defending the 2. In overall offense, Charlotte ranks 94th in effective field goal percentage ODU ranks 288th in this category. ODU holds the advantage on the boards and forcing turnovers.

As long as Charlotte can avoid being sped up by ODU and turning the ball over, I like them to win and cover Wednesday night. Charlotte has the better offensive numbers and have been hot at home recently. Look for Charlotte Sophomore Guard Jahmir Young to carry this 49ers team to a cover. Best of luck!

The Pick: Charlotte -1 @ -110

Missouri vs. Ole Miss

Tigers head to Oxford looking for a road win against one of the SEC’s most underrated teams. Missouri has been one of the SECs best teams this year, entering tonight’s game in second place in the conference standings. Tigers are fresh off a nice win at home against Bama backed by Dru Smith. It’s obvious to take Mizzou, the #10 team in the nation here right? WRONG. Devontae Shuler. I know you saw him game Auburn in OT. This guy can flat out get after and fill it up quick. I expect Ole Miss to come out hungry tonight and can catch Mizzou if they come out flat. Look for Shuler and Romello White to get theirs tonight in a big victory at home for the rebels.

The Pick: Ole Miss -1.5 @ -110
