Our college basketball handicapper Drew Martin is back for Thursday's picks, and he's breaking down two of tonight's games. First up, Longwood vs. Charleston Southern, followed by Austin Peay vs. SIU-Edwardsville.

We’re getting obscure for Thursday’s college basketball picks. Between Longwood vs. Charleston Southern and Autin Peay vs. SIU-Edwardsville, the casual fan probably doesn’t know much about these four teams. Thankfully for us, Drew Martin does and he’s here to break both games down.

Our first game of the night comes to us courtesy of the Big South conference, as Longwood and Charleston Southern face off. Longwood is a middle-of-the-pack Big South team with an 8-9 record in conference play this season. But, Charleston Southern has been the worst team in the league on their way to a 1-13 mark in conference.

Charleston Southern is led by a talented trio of freshmen. Ja’Quavian Florence, Emorie Knox and Melvin Edwards Jr. have made up 34% of the team’s scoring this season. They haven’t done much winning, but when they have won these three freshmen has balled out.

As for Longwood, the Lancers don’t have one scorer that sticks out on offense they do have a balanced attack. Junior Juan Munoz leads the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game. Justin Hill and Deshaun Wade also average double figures for the Lancers.

For the nightcap, Drew is breaking down Austin Peay vs. a team you’ve surely never heard of in SIU-Edwardsville. SIUE is coming off a lopsided loss to Murray State and will be looking to get back in the win column. Austin Peay is also coming off a loss, and 86-81 defeat at the hands of Missouri State.

Terry Taylor has been fantastic for Austin Peay this season, averaging 22 points per game and 11.3 rebounds. The SIUE Cougars are led offensively by Mike Adewunmi and Sidney Wilson.
