Brandon Hurley is back with his pick of the day for Wednesday's college basketball slate
ANALYSIS

Missouri Tigers vs. Florida Gators

Mizzou heads to Gainesville Wednesday night looking for a much needed road win. Mizzou has lost 4 of their last 5 while Florida has won 3 straight. Mizzou has been headed downhill ever since they beat Bama at home. Their only win in the last 3 weeks came at South Carolina, the Gamecocks SUCK.  Florida has looked solid lately but I think the Tigers will be ready to roll against the Gators. The Tigers know they need to get some wins under them heading into the end of the season, same for Florida.

I think Coach Cuonzo Martin is going to have his squad locked in and ready to get the road W. Florida struggles and gets very stagnant at times. Look for the Tigers to slow it down and pound it inside to big fella, Jeremiah Tilmon.  Give me the Tigers on the road. I’m taking the points but don’t be surprised if you see MIZZOU OUTRIGHT!!

The Pick: Mizzou +4 @ -110

Fordham Rams vs. George Washington Colonials

The mid major play of the day takes us to the first round of the A10 Conference Tournament. It is the 4-11 (7-8 ATS) George Washington Colonials -6.5 against the 2-11 (6-7 ATS) Fordham Rams. Both teams stink and have had horrible seasons. They have also dealt with Covid pauses. George Washington was out of action from January 17th to February 21st. Since being back, they are 1-2. They have a nice 8 point home win against Rhode Island and a narrow road loss against George Mason. The other loss was a 47 point beat down against one of the best teams in the A10 St. Bonaventure. Fordham has faired far worse with Covid 19. Fordham didn’t even get to start their season until December 30th and now have not played a game since February 13th. Rust is going to be a major issue for this already struggling Rams team.

George Washington is ranked 152nd on offense and 289th on defense, per KenPom. Fordham is ranked 349th on offense and 121st on defense. George Washington should be able to outscore Fordham with ease. The Colonials ranks 131st in offense Effective FG% while Fordham ranks 347th. George Washington ranks 118th in 2 point shooting % while Fordham ranks 269th defending the 2. Also, George Washington should hold an strong edge on the boards. The Colonials average 34.4 rebounds per game while the Rams average 29.5.

George Washington has already beaten Fordham this year on the road 71-47. Not much has improved for the Rams, as they have only won 2 games all year with most of their losses being blow outs. George Washington has two guys in the top 6 PPG scorers in the A10. Guard James Bishop averages 19.1 PPG and Forward Jamison Battle averages 17.8 PPG. Expect these two to be dialed in and lead George Washington to a win and cover Wednesday afternoon. Best of luck!
