Duke Blue Devils vs. Louisville Cardinals

Duke squares off with Louisville in the second round of the ACC tournament. Duke is coming off an absolute beatdown against Boston College. Moral of the story for Duke Tuesday night was they were drilling shots from everywhere. Last matchup between these two we saw Louisville edge the Dukies in overtime 80-73.

Duke needs to be able to contain Carlik Jones come Wednesday. Carlik Jones is a guy that put points up in a hurry Duke will need to show up like they did against Boston College and shoot the ball well. I think the goat, Coach K, will have his guys locked in and have a solid game plan. The Blue Devils need to win out to make the dance and they know that. Louisville has beaten Duke twice already this season, I don’t see it happening again. Give me the Dukies in a blowout/burial/massacre.

The Pick: Duke -2 @ -110

Charlotte 49ers vs. UTSA Roadrunners

The mid major play of the day is the 14-10 (9-10-1 ATS) UTSA Roadrunners against the 9-15 (9-13 ATS) Charlotte 49ers in the 2nd round of C-USA Tournament. Charlotte comes into this game losing 8 straight games. The 49ers have only scored over 70 points one time in this stretch and that was a game that went to overtime. The 49ers average a putrid 63.5 PPG on the year. On the other hand, UTSA has been one of the hottest teams in C-USA. They have won 6 of their last 8 games. They have scored 84 or more points in those 6 wins. UTSA averages 79.6 PPG.

UTSA ranks 101st on offense and 269th on defense, per KenPom. Charlotte ranks 252nd on offense and 208th on defense. As you can see, UTSA has a distinct advantage on offense. The Roadrunners also hold advantage in some other key stats. They average 38.6 rebounds per game and Charlotte averages 30.9. UTSA also takes care of the basketball. The Roadrunners are 28th in turnover %. The 49ers are loose with the ball ranking 253rd. Another plus for the Roadrunners is that they are good from the line ranking 43rd in free throw %.

These are two teams that have been heading in opposite directions. UTSA is some bettors sneaky long-shot pick to win C-USA. They have a pair of prolific scorers in Senior Guard Jhivvan Jackson and Senior Guard Keaton Wallace. Look for these experienced leaders to score enough points to lead UTSA to a win and cover Wednesday night. Best of luck!

The Pick: UTSA -4.5 @ -105
