College Basketball Picks: 3 Best Bets for Friday's Games
Friday's College Basketball Picks
Oregon vs. SMU Prediction
Best Bets Coming off a clean sweep last night, I am back with my three best bets of the day for College Basketball. I will be starting with one of the best matchups tonight as the SMU Mustangs will battle the Oregon Ducks. Oregon started their season with a seventeen-point win over Texas Southern while SMU beat up on Mcnesse for their first win of the season. These are two of the best teams in their respective conferences. The Oregon Ducks were very active in the transfer portal. They saw themselves land a few large transfers in Syracuse standout Quincy Guerrier and De’Vion Harmon, former Oklahoma Sooner. The Ducks also return star guard Will Richardson who will be a significant factor in this game tonight and this season. SMU presents a very athletic roster projected third in the American Athletic Conference behind Houston and Memphis. SMU will feature the conference leader in both points and assist last season Kendrich Davis. The play I will be looking at here is Oregon’s first half at -3.5. The Ducks are my favorite team out of the PAC 12 as I believe this is an elite two-way team who did a tremendous job of adding the transfer portal. This is a tough spot for SMU as they have to travel to play this game, and I believe Oregon hits them hard early.
Oregon vs. SMU Pick
- Pick: Oregon 1H -3.5 (-116)
George Mason vs. Penn Prediction
The second pick I will be looking at will feature the Penn Quackers and the George Mason Patriots. I am again looking at a first-half under which we have crushed this season to this point. The Penn Quackers were sped up last game by the FSU press, and that forced them into tons of turnovers and shooting quickly in the shot clock. Penn is a team that needs to play at a controlled pace to be successful. This George Mason team is not a team that is all that dynamic and will take some air out of the basketball and works in the half-court set often. I believe the pace will favor this number to sneak under the first half, and we will cash in another first half under in this spot tonight.
George Mason vs. Penn Pick
- Pick: 1H under 70 (-105)
Manhattan vs. Fordham Prediction
The final play I am looking at tonight will feature Fordham and Manhattan. I love this spot tonight for Manhattan in this classic battle between these two teams. These teams have matched up one hundred twelve times in their history which is the most games that Fordham has played against any opponent in their history. The battle between these teams goes back to the 1944-1945 season, due to covid these teams did not meet for the first time since 1944 as this is a historic matchup. Elijah Buchanan will have to carry the load for Mannahantan tonight, and he will be the catalyst in this game for the Jaspers. I think this is an excellent spot for Mannahatan at home tonight.
Manhattan vs. Fordham Pick
- Pick: Manhattan -3 (-115)
