Wednesday's College Basketball Picks

Oakland vs. Toledo Prediction

Oakland vs. Toledo Odds

The first game I am looking at will be an affair between the Toldeo Rockets and the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Toledo comes into this game playing to the tune of a 2-0 record and 1-1 ATS this season. The hometown Golden Grizzlies come into this game with a 1-1 record and 2-0 ATS on the young season.

Oakland has played a pair of Big 12 opponents and has held in with both and even drafted Oklahoma State this weekend in a very impressive effort. Oakland lost their first game of the season to the legendary Bob Huggins-led West Virginia Mountaineers. Toledo comes into this game facing much weaker competition, but they have been able to take care of business so far this year.

This is a game I will be backing the short home favorite on the money line. I like this Oakland team a lot this season, and playing a pair of tough power conference opponents goes a long way in games like these. I like backing the short home favorite here in which should be a competitive game from start to finish. Senior Jamal Cain has been the go-to guy for the Golden Grizzlies early on, and they will need him to step up big again tonight. This talented Oakland roster has impressed me in the young season, and I will be backing them in a great spot tonight.

Arkansas vs. Northern Iowa Prediction

Arkansas vs. Northern Iowa Odds

The second play I will be taking action in will be a battle between Northern Iowa and Arkansas. Arkansas had a great year a season ago, seeing itself as one of the best offenses in all of the nation led by star Moses Moody. Moody left Arkansas for the NBA draft as the Golden State Warriors selected him. This Arkansas team is still expected to be competitive this season and come into this game tonight ranked sixteenth in the nation. The Razor Backs come into tonight supporting a 2-0 record on the young season. The Razor Backs will now look to the services of JD Noate to fill the shoes of Moody from a year ago as the team’s lead scorer. This is a well-coached team led by Eric Musselman, who will carry over his success from a year ago.

On the flip side, Northern Iowa comes into this road game with a 1-2 record, losing a pair of home games that they were favored in. The Play I will be looking at here is once again a first half under. This is all about pace and what Northern Iowa will do in the half-court set. Northern Iowa is a team that likes to play at a controlled pace, and they will need to play against this Arkansas team. This Northern Iowa team also plays hard-nosed defense as they have held two of their three opponents under sixty-three points this season. The number is at sixty-seven here, which I believe is a little too high. We will sweat another one here but let’s cash another one!

Arkansas vs. Northern Iowa Pick

Indiana vs. St. John's Prediction

Indiana vs. St. John's Odds

The last pick I will be going with will be a battle between a pair of power conference teams. The St John Red Strom and the Indiana Hoosiers will battle it out tonight. This is an Indiana team with some turnover in the offseason as they parted ways with former head coach Archie Miller and watched some movement in the transfer portal. The Hoosiers do return star big man Trace Jackson-Davis and veteran big man Race Thompson. The Hoosiers are now led by long-term NBA assistant and former Knicks Head Coach Mike Woodson. Woodson has led the Hoosiers to an early 2-0 record.

St Johns brings back a pair of stars from a season ago in Posh Alexander and Julian Champagnie. This is a game I will be backing another dog who I think wins this outright in the St. Johns Red Strom. I believe this will be a back and forth game that will come down to the last few possessions, and I think they stay within this number tonight.
