Albany vs Boston College Prediction: Will BC Cover the Large Spread?
Albany vs Boston College Prediction**: Will Boston College Cover the Large Spread?**
The Boston College Eagles will welcome the Albany great Danes to Silvio O. Conte Forum for a non-conference matchup slated for 8 pm ET on the ACC Network.
Albany is coming into this game with a 2-7 record. The only two wins for the Great Danes have come against Eastern Illinois and Columbia. Those are two absolutely awful teams.
Meanwhile, Boston College is 6-4 on the year. For once, this team doesn’t have any awful losses so far. Each loss came against a top 100 team and the Eagles already have a win against Notre Dame, who just knocked off Kentucky.
Can Boston College hold off Albany for another non-conference win? Here are our picks and predictions for the ACC matchup between Albany and Boston College.

Albany vs Boston College Prediction
The Albany offense has been one of the worst in the nation this season. The Great Danes are shooting an effective field goal percentage of 42.8 percent while turning the ball over 21.6 percent of the time.
Albany essentially lost their entire team last year once a new head coach was announced. That has set the program back in a big way.
On defense, Albany is active, forcing 20.9 percent of turnovers but they’ve had a hard time rebounding and should get absolutely smoked on the glass by Boston College.
The Eagles are limiting teams to 20.8 percent offensive rebounds, which is good for 10th in the nation. On the other hand, Boston College is earning 32.5 percent of offensive rebounds and should continue to sustain that number going up against Albany, as the Great Danes are holding opponents to 34.1 percent offensive rebounds.
Boston College won’t shoot a heavy dosage of threes but when the Eagles do, they shoot at a solid rate of 35.8 percent. Albany hasn’t defended the three all that well, allowing teams to shoot 35.4 percent from long range.
Inside the arc, Albany is better at defending, however, which should help against a Boston College team that has struggled a bit scoring inside, shooting just 48.1 percent.
Of course, Boston College will earn plenty of rebounds off misses and should keep Albany to one-and-done all night long. Albany is shooting just 27.9 percent from long range and 43.3 percent from inside.
It’s also not like the Great Danes have played many amazing teams this year. Albany faced Kentucky and lost by 25 and took on Kansas State and lost by 28. Outside those two games, Albany has been getting crushed by teams ranked in the 150-250 range.
Boston College is ranked 115 in KenPom while Albany is ranked 321st in the nation. This should be a blowout and I’m not sure Albany will be able to keep up. These types of spreads are difficult, but I’d still recommend taking Boston College at -17.
