Wednesday's College Basketball Picks

Texas Tech vs Iowa State Prediction

Texas Tech vs Iowa State Odds

The first play I want to dive into will be a conference affair between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Iowa State Cyclones, both of the Big 12. The Red Raiders enter play tonight, representing an overall record of 10-2 whole Iowa State comes into this game playing to the tune of a 12-1 record, with their only loss of the season being to the Baylor Bears, the number one team in all of the nation. This will be a great battle tonight between a pair of teams who hang their hats on the defensive end and get consistent stops. Iowa State comes into this game, allowing teams to score just 57.7 points per game, while Tech is allowing opponents just 58.2 points per game. Tech has been the better offense this season, averaging nearly 79 points per game. Iowa State has been one of the most surprising teams this season. According to the media, the Cyclones came into the year with low expectations but have shocked the nation so far, looking like a serious threat to compete in march. However, I will be fading the Cyclones and backing the dog in the Red Raiders. I love this spot for Tech getting far too many points in a game. I see it evenly matched in most aspects of the game. I think Tech has more playmakers on the offensive end, so I love that I can get the more talented offense with some points here. I am expecting another great defensive performance from this Tech team tonight, who I believe has a great shot at winning this outright.

Texas Tech vs Iowa State Pick

  • Pick: Texas Tech +5 (-120)

Depaul vs St. John's Prediction

Depaul vs St. John's Odds

The second play I am turning to that will give us another sweep will be a Big East conference battle between the Depaul Blue Demons and the St John’s Red Storm. Depaul comes into this game playing to a 9-3 overall record, which is a large improvement from a season ago where they were considered one of the worst teams in the Big East. Depaul has proved to be a force to be reckoned with this season and will look to pull the upset tonight in Queens. St Johns comes into this one sporting a record of 8-3. A team expected to be competitive and will look to make some noise in the conference this season. Julian Champagne has been the team leader this season, averaging 20.3 points per game, while Javon Freeman-Liberty of Depaul has been able to match that point total, scoring 20.3 points per game. The play I am going to here will be everybody’s favorite play the first half under. The play is the under here because this number is too tall for conference play, in my opinion. These teams are actually both good defensive teams. They have just shown great offense, which will set this number too high tonight. I love taking conference unders r, especially a first half under with a total over seventy. Be prepared to sweat a little, but we will cash in another one tonight.

Depaul vs St. John's Pick

  • Pick: Depaul/St Johns 1H under 73 (-116)
